Hello dear readers!

I want to continue to talk about this year in books. So I thought it was a good idea to talk about the books I liked the best so far. So here are ten of my favorite books of 2019.
Enjoy!

Sorcery Of thorns – Margaret rogerson

I thought this would be a love letter to all the books, and that was exactly what I got. I have never felt so close to a book before, not in the way I did when I read Sorcery Of Thorns. I felt like I could sit down with Elisabeth and talk about our love for books for hours and hours. I was just so nice to meet a fellow reader inside the world of a book.

”It was always wise to be polite to books, whether or not they could hear you”

Truly Devious – Maureen Johnson

Rating: 5/5 stars

I was drawn in with a promise of a private school and a mystery that had taken place many, many years before our MC takes her first step inside the buildings of Ellingham Acadamy. Sometimes this sort of stories fall flat, but this did not. I was hooked from the first page and didn’t even read to the halfway mark before I ordered the second book in this trilogy. The setting, the mystery and the characters. They are all just the way they should be.

”You have to take things as they are, not how you hear they’re supposed to be”

Nevernight series – jay krisoff

Rating: 5/5 stars

I had a very hard time getting in to the first book in this series. Then I heard someone talking about how it takes around the hundred page mark to find the good stuff, so I decided to give it one final and third try. I did so on audio book. It took around a hundred pages and then I wasn’t just enjoying it. I was actually a little obsessed with it. I read the whole trilogi in one and a half month and that is fast for me. I am so happy I gave this a try. I have to remember to give a book one more try if I just can’t stop thinking about it.

”You’ll be a rumor. A whisper. The thought that wakes the bastards of this world sweating in the nevernight. The last thing you will ever be, girl, is someone’s hero”

Nevernight

Two can keep a secret – Karen M. McManus

Rating: 5/5 stars

It is no secret that I enjoyed her book One Of Us Is Lying, and this was one o my most anticipated read of 2019 and it did not disappoint! McManus knows how to create eerie places and plot twists that will throw you across the room!
And the ending…That darn ending!!

”Welcome to life in a small town. You’re only as good as the best thing your family’s done. Or the worst”

Two Can keep a secret

Crown of feathers – nicki pau preto

Rating: 5/5 stars

I am always exited to get to a book with animals and humans that share a special bond. So I went in to this thinking I would like it, but I ended up really loving it so much more then I thought I would. Everything from the colorful characters and the amazing bond between phoenix and rider was so well done. And then ofc, there was the plot twist! Also, I forgot how many good quotes this book have!

”I control you, he said to his fear, you do not control me”

Crown of feathers

Legendary – Stephanie garber

Rating: 5/5 stars

I read both Legendary and Finale this year. And I loved them both. But I must say I loved Legendary a little bit more. It might actually be my favorite in the trilogy. The chemistry between Tella and Dante was amazing. I can’t wait to see what this author comes out with next!

”Every story has four parts – the beginning, the middle, the almost ending, and the true ending”

Legendary

Capturing the devil – Kerri maniscalco

Rating: 5/5 stars

This has been one of my all time favorite series ever since I read the first book and every year I looked forward to the next one. This year, that series came to a close and it was bitter sweet. Even though I will miss it so much, it really was the perfect ending.

”The world needed to be better. And if it wasn’t possible for it to be better, we, its inhabitants, needed to do better”

Capturing the devil

The last time i lied – riley sager

Rating: 5/5 stars

I have read a lot of thrillers this year, but this one stands out. It was a few month ago since I read this, but I still can’t stop thinking about the plot twist in this one. First of all, I did not see it coming, it slapped me in the face in the best way possible. Second of all, it was so smart! This is a thriller I really enjoyed it on audio book!

”Sometimes the only way out is through”

The last time I lied

Fireborne – rosaria munda

Rating: 5/5 stars

Here I go again with the bond between animal and human and this time it is about dragons! Dragons! I love them. And this one is without a doubt one of the best books about dragons and their bond with it’s humans.
Aside from that, I was really impressed by the writing style. This book is a debut and such a great one! I cannot wait until the next installment comes out!

”They watch us kneel, they see the back of our heads, and they think we’ve given in. They don’t realize you can think from your knees just as well as from your feet”

Fireborne

The demon king – cinda williams chima

Rating: 5/5 stars

I have heard a lot of great things about this series and the first book was not a disappointment! The writing style was like coming home, even though I have never read anything from this author before. If the rest of the series keeps up like this, it will be such a great series!

”Don’t ask for the truth, boy, unless you’re ready to hear it”

The Demon King
